I've always likened the experience playing to be very tabletop in nature. It is often a bit slow in the beginning, building up to a long burning tension of usually around 2-3 hours of tactical consideration and amusing courier messages sent between our divisions. The stream is not a fast paced, kill-streak powered, rampage. I am an extremely amateurish streamer, with about 2 weeks experience, not much tech, and a humble following of 1 very nice person. If RTSes aren't your thing but you enjoy a good clash of bayonets on a smokey battlefield I have recently begun streaming our encounters. You can find us and the mod, as well as many other friendly historical wargaming fans at. We play various scenarios created by ourselves which lends a very tabletop feel to the experience. Naturally we play with the setting in the game that requires couriers to be sent from the commander to every single unit that is to be ordered to do anything, thus to succeed one must understand the physical limitations of issuing orders to units. Part of that experience is what we call Headquarters in the Saddle (or HITS) which means we play the game from the perspective of our commanders instead of the traditional 'helicopter' view that RTSes typically use.
